Quick Fix for Login Problems

LinkedIn Learning can occassionally have difficulty recognizing whether a user is authorized to access LinkedIn Learning through the Harvard site license.  This most commonly happens to new users, extension school students who do not have a Harvard email address, or users who had a previous LinkedIn Learning account covered by a different license.  If LinkedIn Learning isn't letting you log in, says you are unauthorized, or doesn't recognize your email address, the steps below should fix the problem.

1) Go to https://www.linkedin.com/learning/login-ent. That should take you to a generic LinkedIn Learning Sign In screen that looks like the one below.  If it doesn't, clear your browser cache and then try again.

2) On this alternative Sign In screen, ignore the instruction about entering your email address. Instead type only “harvard.edu” in the email box (as shown in the image below) and press Continue.

3) That will take you to a redirect screen with the Harvard logo. From there, click the "Continue to Harvard University" button to be redirected to a HarvardKey Sign In page.

4) Enter your HarvardKey and complete your Two-Step Verification (if required) to connect a LinkedIn Learning account to your Harvard account.

5) You will then be redirected back to LinkedIn Learning.  You may be asked to enter your LinkedIn password if you were previously logged into LinkedIn or if have a LinkedIn account associated with your Harvard email address.  Doing this will alow the LinkedIn Learning system to associate your prior account history with your "new" Harvard account.

Related Information:

HarvardKey: HarvardKey credentials are required to access LinkedIn Learning through Harvard.  For more information about claiming and managing your HarvardKey, go to https://key.harvard.edu/.

Harvard Eligibility: If the above steps did not work, you may not be eligible to use LinkedIn Learning through Harvard. Harvard's site license only allows the University to provide access to LinkedIn Learning to current Harvard students, employees, faculty members, and individuals with certain sponsored roles. Harvard alumni, retirees, and employees of affiliated institutions are not covered under the Harvard site license and are therefore ineligible to access LinkedIn Learning through the University. For questions about this, refer to our FAQs.

Connecting a LinkedIn Profile: When you log in for the first time, LinkedIn Learning may ask if you want to connect your LIL account to a personal LinkedIn profile. This is not required, but doing so will allow you to keep your LinkedIn Learning history and certificates accessible if you leave Harvard. For help determining if your account is already connected to a profile, refer to these instructions.
